Our POV

Rufescent /ro͞oˈfes(ə)nt/, meaning tinged with red or rufous, and or, becoming reddish brown in color, metaphorically symbolizes the striking union of red lips and brown skin.

Our radical approach to redefining red lips is simple. The beauty already exists, we merely provide the icing. The proof is in the pout.

We believe red lipstick should be healthy, beautifully blended, and both inclusive and accessible to individuals of color + humankind.

Founder’s Story

Meet Kristin McIntyre, the award-winning wardrobe stylist turned Chief Beauty Officer whose journey embodies the essence of empowerment and representation for women of color. After a seven year run in fashion, delving into prints and patterns, Kristin seamlessly transitioned into the beauty realm after identifying a white space in the industry. She garnered recognition and earned accolades for defying rules after she curated an entire collection of red lipsticks tailored exclusively for melanated women employing a certificate in color theory.

Her creative prowess and commitment to aesthetic excellence continue to shape trends in both fashion and beauty. With her knack for style and an unwavering commitment to celebrating diverse beauty, Kristin intends to pave the way, defying odds and setting trends that resonate with our unique and vibrant identities.

I made a fierce statement out of my personal struggles by donning my distinctive red lipstick and overcoming confidence issues. I'm here now to impart some insight, illustrating that beauty is a vibrant, self-assured lifestyle rather than something that is merely skin deep.
